Designed and implemented a performance training program for the student-athletes of Doherty Memorial High School, consistent with the guidelines from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
With four training days a week over seven weeks, our 34 participating athletes saw consistent gains across the board.
The greatest improvements (based on a 3-5RM test) included a 52lb increase in the Squat (from 365 to 417), a 52lb increase in the Bench Press (from 231 to 283), a 21lb increase in Overhead Press (from 101 to 122) and a 21lb increase in the Deadlift (from 344 to 365).
